Beyond the Reach
Although Monsantine is a newborn in the Imperium, its food supply is vital to the Imperium. That, combined with its distance from any center of Imperial power, makes it a prime target for corruption. Additionally, its location on the edge of Imperial space suggests that xenos could easily be found nearby. The Inquisition recognizes these facts, and has assigned disproportionately large cohorts of Inquisitors and agents to monitor goings-on on the planet. The Monsantinian Inquisition is headquartered on an orbital known as the Star of Truth. Although Ingenuity boasts an extremely large spaceport, the Inquisition chooses to conduct its business via a small fleet of landers kept on-station.
All three Ordos are equally represented on the station, but none of them actually has very much to do. Hereticus is the busiest, but even its agents spend their time chasing down rumors of people skipping their prayers. Although there are certainly scattered heretical cults (as there are anywhere), none of it is serious enough to truly demand the attention of the Inquisition. Of course, the relative calm is partially due to the Inquisition’s watchfulness; they know it is because of their presence that they are unneeded.
